1What the seal is
The Lo Mejor de Peru seal is an editorial recognition showing that an establishment, operator or service was selected by us because it offers an exceptional, dependable experience for travelers. Each edition carries the year it is awarded: the 2026 seal belongs to the 2026 edition and stays exactly as is for whoever receives it.
A winner can hold the seals of several years. The seal is not a ranking or an official classification, and it does not replace licenses, authorizations or categorizations required by law for each business.
2How we select
- In-person visit and verification: we get to know the service, film it and evaluate it ourselves.
- Guest experience: quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and consistency between what is promised and what is delivered.
- Reliable operation: compliance with the permits and rules that apply to its activity.
- Accurate information: what we publish about each business is based on what we verify.
The seal is awarded free of charge and cannot be bought. It does not depend on a business hiring our services or on any payment.
3Transparency
Lo Mejor de Peru is a curated guide that also sells services from operators and establishments it recognizes, when an agreement exists with them. Recognition and commercial agreements are independent decisions: receiving the seal does not require signing an agreement, and signing one does not guarantee the seal.
4Conditions to keep the seal
- Keep up to date the licenses, permits and registrations the law requires for its activity.
- Maintain the quality and safety standard for which it was selected, and handle guest complaints diligently.
- Use the seal only for the recognized business and the corresponding year, without altering it or implying a broader meaning (for example, a ranking or a third-party certification).
- Tell us about relevant changes: closure, renovation, change of owner or services.
- Allow periodic re-verification.
If a business stops meeting these conditions, we will notify it in writing, give it the chance to respond and, if the issue persists, we may withdraw the seal and ask that it no longer be used.
