Belmond Palacio Nazarenas stands on a site that has been an Inca temple, a private palace reimagined in the 1500s for Mancio Serra de Leguizamón, a Jesuit college for aristocratic children from 1644, and later a convent. Belmond restored the building and reopened it in 2012 as an all-suite hotel of 55 suites, built on and around original Inca stonework. Suites range from junior suites of about 320 to 420 square feet to one-bedroom suites of about 670 to 730 square feet, studio suites, and two signature suites of about 740 to 1,400 square feet. Oxygen-enriched accommodation is a feature of the hotel, a gentle help at Cusco's altitude, and butler service is available. The courtyards open onto a heated outdoor swimming pool, the first of its kind in Cusco's historic center, and a secret garden adds a quiet corner. Mauka, the flagship restaurant, is led by chef Pía León, and Senzo is the bar, with small plates and pisco cocktails. Hypnôze Spa, inspired by Inca and Andean culture, offers treatments for physical and emotional wellbeing. The hotel also has a library, a chapel, a boutique, and offers cooking classes and liquor tastings. It was ranked No. 54 in the extended list of The World's 50 Best Hotels 2026, according to the hotel.
