Astrid & Gaston

The flagship that put Peru on the world's culinary map.

  • Address: Av. Paz Soldan 290 (Casa Hacienda Moreyra)
  • District: San Isidro
  • Cuisine: Peruvian haute cuisine
  • Chef / group: Chef Gaston Acurio

Astrid & Gastón began in July 1994, when chef Gastón Acurio and his wife Astrid Gutsche, recent graduates of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, opened a restaurant serving classic French dishes. Over the years it became the restaurant credited with starting Peru's gastronomic movement, and since 2014 it has had its home in Casa Moreyra, a 17th-century colonial manor in San Isidro. The house is a destination on its own, with several spaces, each with its own ambiance: the restaurant itself, La Barra, El Cielo, El Taller, El Patio and El Edén. The experience is classic and warm, with both a la carte and tasting menu options, and a smart-casual to formal dress code. Astrid & Gastón was named Best Restaurant of Peru at the Premios Summum 2025. In 2026 it placed #3 in the Top 20 and won Best Contemporary Peruvian Cuisine. It is the foundational Peruvian fine-dining experience for first-time visitors and for special occasions.
